About
Alice Cooper dyes fabric, and makes quilts with commercial fabrics and her own dyed fabrics. She grew up living in different countries in Asia and Africa. Now she lives in Providence, Rhode Island and visits family in Switzerland during the summer. Her ideas for quilts come from her photographs and varied life experiences. She teaches second grade ESL in a public inner-city school and plays the flute.
Artist Statement
I am an artist and I make non-traditional quilts. The act of making art helps me process ideas and emotions, and in these days I make lots of art. My work is my voice, and I have much to say.
